Besuch der „Friends of Bocholt“ / visit of the „Friends of Bocholt“ – 24. – 27.11.16 update: 25.11.16

Nach einem ruhigen und sanften Flug kamen am Donnerstag die „Friends of Bocholt“ am Düsseldorfer Flughafen an. Dort wurden sie von Barbara Lensing in Empfang genommen.
Nach einer ersten Nacht bei Freunden lud die Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft alle zum Frühstück bei Ninas Café ein. Die stellvertr. Bürgermeisterin Hanni Kammler begrüßte in einem Grußwort unsere englischen Freunde und hofft, dass „auch in diesen schweren europäischen Zeiten, die Freundschaften bleiben.“ Auch Peter Bill, Vorsitzender Friends of Bocholt und Karl Gerd Geßner stießen in das gleiche Horn. Alle waren sich einig, dass der Brexit aber keinen Einfluss auf die Freundschaft und Partnerschaft zwischen Rossendale und Bocholt haben wird.
Am Nachmittag geht es mit allen zum Weihnachtsmart nach Münster.

After a calm and smooth flight the Friends of Bocholt arrived on Düsseldorf Airport on Thursday. Barbara Lensing gave them a warm welcome.
On the next morning the German British society Bocholt invited them to a breakfast at Ninas Café. There was a reception by Hanni Kammler, vice mayor of Bocholt. In her speech she mentioned the difficult european times at the moment and hoped that „beside this the friendship will go on.“ Also Peter Bill, chairman of the Friends and Charly Geßner are singing from the same song-sheet. All were thinking the same that the Brexit will not have any influence on friendship and twinnig between Rossendale and Bocholt.
In the afternoon there will be a visit of the christmas markets in Münster.
